Rare Vintage Playmobil #5300 Large Victorian Mansion 99.9%25 Complete with Original Instructions and Packet/NEAR MINT-MINT (I) (ret.) (I) (More photos below). Remember the beloved British television series, Downton Abby?" Cast in the late 1890s and early 1900s, the show featured nobility interspersed with assorted servants living in a glorious manion. Here or your consideration is a real TREASURE --the Playmobils Classic #5300 Large Victorian Mansion!!! This set was one of the most cherished play offerings Playmobil ever crafted. When I say "crafted," I mean exactly that. The detail on this dollhouse is beyond compare---down to its flower boxes, chimney cap, basement grates, curtains, blinds, railings, wall paper, pictures etc. I obtained this set from the original owner who is now 32 years of age. Based upon the original owners age, I believe this particular set is version number one and was manufactured between 1989/90 --1991/92. According to the Playmobil Collectors Guide, 3rd edition, this version is considered by Playmobil to be RARE. Most of these sets have been kept by their original owners and have not been offered up for resale. To find one of these in this condition (NEAR MINT-MINT) and 99.9%25 complete is almost like finding the Holy Grail. I have painstakingly examined and tallied each and every piece and everything is there. Most of these houses are missing gold finials on the dormers, door handles, wall fillers, railings, roof pieces, flowers, window boxes etc. etc. This set possesses all of its original structural components and decorative elements, including all of its pictures. The set also comes replete with its original instructions and protective cardboard packet. The only thing that is missing is a pair of white spats for the Father. I have gone over this set with a "fine tooth comb." When I first received this mansion, many of the white surfaces had darkened due to age and excess sun exposure. To alleviate this problem, I have replaced all of the white doors, white window boxes, white framed windows, and the long, white sun room window. Since taking these photos, I have also found a replacement short, white sun room window so that both of these sun room walls are sparkly white. Because of some tears, tiny marks, and residual glue spots, I will be replacing four pieces of wall paper when I Q-tip clean this base and all of its accessories. Likewise, I will be substituting four sets of pink curtains and curtain rods. This mansion originally came with only two sets of pink curtains. In order to insure that the pink curtains all matched, I obtained four matching pink curtains from another seller. While the exterior walls of the Victorian Mansion and outside stairs leading to the sun room are slightly darkened due to sun exposure, I doubt most people would even notice this if I hadnt mentioned it. I only noticed it because I knew what to look for. Its extremely minor in nature. The new owners will need to procure some small, two-sided wall tape (e.g. like students use in their dorm rooms) to position the loose pictures on the walls as the original tape has disappeared over the years. Everything else is PRISTINE. The
