SRAM started designing their Code RSC Disc Brakes by analyzing their Guide brakes. Those work great and are easy to adjust. So SRAM built the Code RSC up with the Guide architecture in the background. The result is an impressive stopper that shines brightest when the tilt is going down, fast. This is your downhill brake. They found they were able to increase power by 15%25 over similar brakes by employing every design tip they??ve mastered. The four-piston dual-diameter alloy caliper (15 and 16mm pistons) pushes steel-backed metal sintered pads. The idea is that you can either get more bite with a big rotor, or get a big rotor bike with a slightly smaller rotor. The lever body has an expandable bladder to minimize air bubbles, a PiggyBack Reservoir to better manage the extra fluid (30%25 extra) you need for speed. The ambidextrous lever itself runs on sealed bearings, and features SRAM??s Contact Point Adjustment, which allows you to adjust where in the lever stroke the pads contact the rotor, and their reach adjust which allows you to set the lever distance from the bar. The fluid is, as always DOT 5.1, and the caliper comes pre-bled and ready to go with SRAM??s Bleeding Edge design: just thread them through to the levers, attach, and go. The lever comes on a clamp for Matchmaker and MMX, so you can secure your shifter(s) and remote(s) to the brake lever clamp. The SRAM Code RSC Disc Brake comes with a CenterLine rotor in 160, 170, 180, or 200mm diameter. Weight for a brake is 443g with the 160mm rotor.
