This set, from coffee equipment specialists, Hario, takes things a step further with some nifty extras to make life that little bit easier when you’re making brewed coffee. The accuracy of the scales changes as weight increases. If you’re measuring less than 200g of coffee, it will be accurate to 0.1g, but if you’re between 500g and 2kg, it’ll be accurate to a whole gramme. This means precision when you need it, but not when you don’t. To sweeten the deal still further, the scale also displays brewing time. Professional baristas might have had the practice to know when the brew is ready, but now home enthusiasts can get that same level of precision, thanks to Hario. The V60 scales are perfect for making pourover coffee, and, though they are designed to work with Hario’s V60 drip station, it can work just as well with other brands. The scale’s platform is 140mm x 190mm, and requires two AAA batteries to run.
